Subhi: Using Creative Design for Good

Updated: May 22, 2020

Subhi is currently a Creative Team Director at Zileej. In May 2018, she was featured in an episode of “Hijabistas! With Yassmin Abdel-Magied,” an Australian documentary series by ABC Australia which explores the global fashion industry's response to “hijabi fashionistas” and meets Australian Muslim women who are “breaking stereotypes in style.” In her segment, Subhi talks about her team’s range of hijabi dolls, Salam Sisters, and the process through which they were created. You can watch it here: ABC

Not only that, Subhi worked with Intezar Elham on the the Uyghur Atlas campaign to raise money for the Uyghur cause while also raising awareness of the situation back home, Uyghur culture, and promoting ethical fashion! The campaign was created on LaunchGood, featured on AJ+, and raised over $20,000!

The last picture is from a series Subhi and her sister Saltanat did for their website in August, 2017, @themodestbride in an editorial for celebrating their roots. Have a look at more of their photoshoot on their website:
