Introducing Musa, 22, from Philadelphia, a new volunteer at the Tarim Network!
1. What are you passionate about?
The chase for Equality. Because when inequality persists in any given society there will be countless issues stemming from it. Therefore, in order to be rid of any crisis we face, we must address inequality that exists between two or more parties involved.
2. What inspires you the most?
The passion of Uyghurs. I am always impressed by how strong willed our people are. It doesn’t matter if it’s activism, soccer, arts, or just networks like this; we have so many people who love what they do and have that fire in their eyes. It fuels me and motivates me to be better and work harder.
3. What is the most important lesson you have learnt recently?
“Don’t let your struggle define YOU”. It is imperative that we, as Uyghurs, do not let our struggle or crisis define us. We are more than what people see on the news or read about it in the UN or Amnesty International. As long as we know our history, there’s nothing that we can’t do!
