The Tarim Network is partnering with CESSI for a volunteering opportunity!
What is CESSI?
The Central Eurasian Studies Summer Institute (CESSI) hosts an eight-week summer intensive language program for undergraduate and graduate students, researchers, and professionals. Language courses are supplemented by a rich program of cultural events, excursions, and a weekly academic lecture series. CESSI is hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
This summer, CESSI is seeking virtual conversation partners to work with intermediate-level Uyghur language students.
The course will run from June 19 to August 11, 2023. Volunteers will be expected to attend at least one class per week, although this can be flexible based on the number of volunteers who apply. Sessions will run for 30 minutes.
You will be conversing with intermediate-level Uyghur speakers to provide them with an immersive experience while they learn the Uyghur language. You will be provided with some guidelines on topics, vocabulary, or grammar to use during these sessions. This is a remote position.
