Japanese contemporary artist Tatsuo Miyajima is searching for native speakers of Uyghur in his upcoming art project Counter Voice Network.
Counter Voice Network is an immersive sound installation that aims to collect audios of counting numbers in various languages from around the world. The project seeks to present a diverse and inclusive collection of voices, reflecting the rich linguistic and cultural diversity of our global community.
To participate: upload an audio recording of yourself counting to this website: https://tatsuomiyajimastudio.com/?page_id=3629
"We are inviting native speakers of Uyghur (or any other dialect) to co-create this meaningful artwork together. Uyghur carries such a unique traditional culture, it would be a loss to our world if this voice is unheard. Miyajima hopes to preserve this distinctiveness through the creation of contemporary art." --Miyajima Representative
